Ted and Civil Air Patrol

When 9-11 happened, Ted wanted to do something. Ted is an extremely patriotic individual. He looked at re-joining the military, but was a wee bit too old to re-join. He looked into becoming an air marshall. He looked into anything he could do to serve his country. Ted remembered that his dad used to be involved in the Civil Air Patrol and he contacted them. For those of you who don't know, Civil Air Patrol is an auxillary unit of the United States Air Force - it is 99% volunteer, very few are paid. Ted is not paid. Ted spends one night every week involved in his duties there. He also spends another night every other week; plus when there is an exercise or special project he's involved in, he spends more days and evenings. He volunteers ALOT of his time to C.A.P. He has gone through the ranks and is now a Captain and expects to be promoted to Major sometime this year. He is the Director of Communications for the Utah Wing. This means he handles all of the radios and

Grandma Juna

It's my mother's 82nd birthday today. She is an amazing woman. She is in better health than most people 20 years younger than she is. She just goes and goes and goes. She has slowed down, but just a smidgen over the last couple of years. It seems it has more to do with her back than with her age. She had back surgery a little over a year ago. So, she'll go for as long as her back will go and then she has to sit down. I was with her just a bit ago, and she said she could do yardwork for about 20 minutes, then she had to sit down while working in the yard; she also expressed that it made her a little frustrated because she likes working in the yard. That is crazy, she's 82 years old and wants to work in the yard. But, it's what she likes to do. She loves to travel. She, KayeLynn and I went on a Panama Canal Cruise a couple of years ago; while doing that we went on a horseback ride, an ATV ride and we shopped and shopped, along with a lot of other tours. B

Theodore

Ted is so freaking good to me. I have to say, of allllll my husbands, he knows how to deal with me very best. Even in those very small, few times that we are fighting, he doesn't really fight with me. Ted has all these crazy idiosincrasies that absolutely drive me INSANE - - one of them is that he likes to buy stuff. But, when he buys stuff, he'll buy more than one. When he comes home, he'll say "look what I bought you". Like he really bought it for me!! Ha ha ha!! One of the things he has bought in the past is lunch meat - deli sliced turkey, especially. So, yesterday, I came home to put groceries away, and there was absolutely no room in either of the two freezers we have stuffed full. I absolutely blow a gasket!! I start dragging stuff out. I start re-arranging. I start moving stuff around. There are probably a dozen packages of sliced turkey, three packages of bologna, ten packages of hot dogs. All great deals Ted has found. I finally get thi

The Women in My Life!!

I love the women in my life. They are all so beautiful and inspirational. Whether I'm related through blood or related through chance, I love them all. Some women give me so much inspiration. They are either there with me for minutes or for years - but, each one has touched me so much. My mother: My mother has been on her own since 1995, when my father died. She inspires me so much. She'll be 82 in a couple of weeks. She has so much energy (though it has dwindled a bit) - but she still goes and goes and goes. She loves to travel. She loves to see the world. She had her own motorhome up until a few years ago, and she would drive herself down south during the cold times. She's always there for me and I love spending time with her. My Girls: Crystal: I would never have imagined what an outstanding woman she would turn out to be. She is probably the best mother I have ever seen. She is always trying to find things to do with her kids to help them learn and grow.
