Fall Trip - San Francisco

Ted and I had planned to go to Orlando this last weekend.  A little guy named Matthew changed our destination.  One of the bucket list places for me has always been San Francisco.  We left Friday night and got home Sunday evening.  We really only did one day of heavy sight seeing - because we decided to head to the airport early Sunday because the flights got really tight. One thing you need to know - I do not do anything spontaneously.  I usually plan everything out about what I want to do.  And Ted is good enough that he just let's me be me. This weekend was different.  There were no real plans.  Ted used to live in Sacramento - and he traveled to the Bay area every week to work - so he had a list of places that we wanted to go see. So Saturday morning after breakfast, we just started driving.  We drove a bit and ended up in the Wharf area.  Parking was really expensive where we parked - $3 for every fifteen minute with a $45 maximum.  We agreed to get out and walk around for

The Garden Experiment

Back in my younger years, I would plant a garden ever year.  I planted so many things - tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peas, green beans, carrots, peppers, beets - every year.  But, back then, I had the best of mentors.  My Dad would come practically every year and till up my garden.  He even brought me manure a few times, when he had extra to fertilize my garden. I usually had a beautiful garden.  I would get so much stuff from it!  I canned tomatoes, salsa and chili sauce every year.  I canned beets every year. I canned green beans.  And we would eat and eat and eat what we sowed.  I kept it up for a few years after my dad died.  But not many.  Then George died.  I never planted a garden again.  It's been fifteen to twenty years since I last had a garden.  I sold my house.  I moved into a condo - oh how I loved my condo.  Then I met this guy, married him and sold my condo.  This guy - with whom I love with all my heart - and I bought a house. Our house has a small yard.  Whic

Annual Date With Color - 2016

Road trip!!!  Ted and I try and go places to see the fall colors.  The last two years, we've gone out of state to do it - 2014 we went to Portland, Oregon and 2015 we went to Rapid City, South Dakota.  This year, we stayed local.  We went on the Mirror Lake Scenic Drive and up to Evanston, then back on I-80 home.  Just want to share some photos to journal our journey.  I worked this morning - and it was a pretty rough morning - and as soon as I got home, I changed my clothes and off we went.  Here are our photos. On our way up I-80 Rockport Lake Rockport Lake - the tower sticking up there is an Osprey nest tower.  They built several of these towers for Osprey Ted was so excited by this - he had to turn around and go back for a picture.  You'll appreciate it if you are a Dr. Who fan I forgot to get my SD card for my camera. We had to stop and get one at the ACE Hardware store in Kamas. So - this was our test selfie.  HAHA Test foot shot.  Then
