Interesting People - - - #9 and #10

My cousin Eva and I were chatting on Facebook and something she said made me realize how long it's been since I have written anything.  She told me I should tell my ghost story.  I may have to do that.  But since I haven't written, I thought I would talk about a couple of things that happened today. Number Nine - #9 - Nine point OH: Today I got my hair cut and colored and my eyebrows waxed. I have been going to the same hair stylist for the last few years.  She was born in Iran and is a Muslim woman.  She has lived in America for decades, along with her family.  Today she was talking about the anger she is feeling with her home country.  She is angry that they feel that they are above international law - by their burning of the Saudi embassy.  And she talked about them damaging or destroying the British and American embassies.  Then we talked about the radical extremists.  She talked about her religious lessons as a child.  She ...

Saturday mornings and early afternoons, Ted and I tend to try and get stuff done that we need to get done before I need to head to work in the afternoon.  Right now, we don't have any days off together, so we make the most of our time when we can. This week has been a bit rough.  My mother had been in the hospital and is now finishing up her recovery in a rehab center.  It was a rough few days, her confusion got so huge, I wasn't sure if she would be able to go home.  On top of that, I have been dealing with some other emotions from other things that have been going on.  On top of that, chaos is still reigning supreme and with everything that has been going on, I haven't been able to paint or do anything to further my remodeling.  So, to say the least, I have felt a little sorry for myself. Today, Ted and I went furniture shopping, we still have so much to find.  After that, we headed to Sam's Club for some things we needed.   When we were...

I just took a little jaunt, a little trip.  I have an extra day off this week, because someone I worked for last week is paying me back this week.  I decided to take advantage and use my flight benefits - mostly so I could just say that I did it.  No real other reason. As far as the trip goes, I did nothing.  Absolutely NOTHING.  I didn't even leave the hotel.  I ordered pizza in from a local pizzeria that delivered.  I went to the pool for about an hour.  That was the extent of it.  Otherwise, I just relaxed.  I read, I played on my iPad, I watched HGTV (I don't have cable television).  I arrived around noon yesterday and left there at 10:00 this morning. When I fly, I usually take a book and read.  Or a magazine.  Something to occupy my time.  Even when I'm flying with someone I know, I don't usually chat with them.  So, when a stranger is sitting next to me, I generally keep to myself and read.  I'm...

I have made a friend.  A soul sister for life.  I am so excited by this connection.  She is one of the most interesting and lovely people I have ever met and I hope we have a long and enduring friendship.  She is simply amazing!!  I 100% adore  her and if she'll have me, I'll be her friend forever.  We connected back in October, but, she and I still feel a crazy, awesome connection.  She is one of the most endearing and genuine people I know.  She puts everyone in front of herself.  She is a supervisor of a 911 center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  She has worked there for 21 years.  She is loved by her staff.  She recently had a career disappointment when she wasn't chosen to be the Assistant Director.   She and I just spent about two hours talking about her opportunities and drinking margaritas - some of the best margaritas I've ever had by the way.   Have I told you she is an amazing person??   ...

Yesterday was an amazingly crazy, busy, hectic, happy day. I got home a little after 7:00 p.m. from work on Thursday night and had to be back up and ready, raring and running at 7:00 a.m. Friday morning.   Yesterday was the opening ceremony for the opening of our new building  A building that for me and my work kids is still 58 days from really a reality.  However, it is beautiful.  The raising of the flag ceremony was yesterday morning and the ribbon cutting was in the afternoon - and in between it was run, run, run!!!  Once all the pomp and circumstance was done, my bossman, my princess and I were in our office to greet visitors and explain things about the office. When my princess and I arrived, we found our boss in a discussion with a gentleman.  Because this has to do with work, I am going to call him MM.  This was a very animated gentleman and he was busily describing things to my boss.  Let me describe him a bit - think Doc Brown from...

Interesting People - - #3 and #4

I've decided to add another facet to my rambling ways.  Interesting people.  I already posted about #1 and #2 back here:   Interesting people .  I didn't call them that, it was a rambling about not judging a book by it's cover.  But, I have decided that we let the world pass us by too much, we don't pay attention enough - I am probably just talking about myself, but, sometimes there are people you just notice. We went to the July 4th Parade in Murray, Utah yesterday.  I have been sick and I was still not feeling awesome, but my kiddos were in the parade and I won't miss anything that I have an opportunity to witness if it has something to do with any of my kiddos. We made our way to a spot and were lucky to find a nice spot to sit.  A while later, a man and a woman come and sit right next to us.  Ted, who everyone knows makes me insane, instantly starts giving them a bad time about sitting in front of the metal sign on the sidewalk and blah bl...
