Adios, Au Revoir, Goodbye....

So, tonight is my last night on the graveyard shift. It's been fun the days I've worked. I have to say, I really enjoy these up-all-nighters immensely. They are on the complete opposite spectrum of the "normal" people. Here are some final notes on my time here:

Marla, Corey, Cheryl, Betsy, Nicole, Doug, Cortney, Angie, Natalie, Nathan, Amber, Jessica, Cliff, Leslie: STOP BEING SO DANG QUIET!!! I am not used to hearing NOTHING!!! I am used to people calling me constantly, I am used to having things to do, I am used to not sitting around and doing nothing!!! I have done nothing for an entire month - and my BUTT HURTS!!! My butt hurts from sitting in this chair and staring at the computer for TWELVE HOURS CONSTANTLY!!

However, on the up side - I have completely loved being with you this month!! Watching Nicole's face in lineup when Diane is there is priceless. Nathan's litte quips and comments are hilarious. Cortney and his "touche" comments make me giggle, especially since the "touche" is always at Doug and his nonstop sarcasm! Amber and Jessica and their continual giggling and chatter are about the only sounds I have heard; I have absolutely loved listening to the two of you. Cliff and his DUN DUN DUN last night were fun and his wit is superb. Natalie, Cheryl, Angie, Marla, Leslie and Betsy - the seasoned veterans - it's nice to have a voice of reason at times; you have all been so sweet to me and I thank you so much for putting up with me and talking to me when I needed conversation. Corey, our talks have been kind of fun, I hope you get what you want in life.

I really have enjoyed my time on graveyards, especially my nights with Diane who has kepts me laughing and awake!! My visits from Amberly have been very much appreciated, too!!

    While reading through this blog post, my comment was originally going to be, "WHAT?! No mention of Moi?!?!?!?!" And then I read the last (aka most important) sentence and all was well in the world again. So, without further adieu (look at me with all the French words today!), here are my official comments:

    1. I think it's lame you're leaving Graves.
    2. I think you're lame for leaving Graves too.
    3. If I'd known you hated quiet, I would've made lots and lots and lots of noise.
    4. If I'd known how much you loved me, I totally would've visited more.
    5. Until I read this blog post, I did not know that the half-assed bubble blowing was your going away celebration.
    6. If I had known, I would've appreciated them more.
    7. I think it's lame you're leaving Graves.
    8. I plan on hunting down your cell # so I can text you in the middle of the night, just cuz.
    9. You didn't experience me in the same way Tryn and Elaine got to on Graves and that is sad for you.

    Wow not gonna lie feelin kinda left out, nobody ever talks about afternoons. Supervisors never say oh afternoons is my favorite shift to work. It's alawys I work grave or day and I like either or. Geez. Are we that horrible? I think we can be quite fun as well.

    Afternoon shift is my very favorite shift to work. However, I don't have a choice of afternoon shift, I have the choice of day or night. Luckily, I get to work with you, on afternoon shift, no matter if I'm days or nights!! So, you are the icing on the cake!!

I am exhausted.  Physically.  Mentally.  Is there anything else??  Because I'm sure that is exhausted, too. CoCo's Journey - Sleeping with Jeff AND Camilla

  Well, the day has come and gone.  I got my new and fancy attachment coming out of my face.  It was a horrible experience.  I thought I was going to go absolutely insane and take out the people putting it in me.  But, let's talk about it real quick. I got an NJ tube.  I thought I was going to be getting an NG tube.  What is an NJ tube?  It's a tube for feeding that is placed through the nose and snaked down past the stomach and into the jejunal.  The jejunal is in the small intestine.  The nasojejunal tube is more complex and has a few more risks than the nasogastric tube.  But, apparently, it's the best choice for me.   So let's talk about the actual procedure.  I knew from the beginning, when they squirted lidocaine in my two nostrils to kind of deaden it that it was going to be COMPLETELY horrible!!!  And then needed me to sniff it down to kind of deaden my throat, to make the tube a little more comfortable g...

CoCo's Journey - Up Your Nose with a Rubber Hose

Sun wasn't even up when I headed to the hospital Today, I had my first albumin infusion.  I have it at the Cancer Center.  It lasts about four hours.  They get an IV started and slowly infuse the albumin.  Today, I learned a lot: Don't take your own snacks.  They have great snacks and beverages.  And you don't have to haul all that stuff. Four hours, sitting in a little curtained room, is really not bad.  I snoozed, I snacked, I watched TV, I played on my phone. Make sure you take your power pack. If they ask you if you want a heated blanket, the answer is always YES.  I had three by the time I left.  I told the adorable CNA fella that I planned to just look like a pile of blankets by the time I was ready to leave.
