Getting Healthy, Losing Weight and Humiliation

I've made no secret that I'm doing Weight Watchers.  I started at the end of April.  At this point, I am down just under 34 pounds.  Yesterday, I had the greatest experience hitting a milestone I have not really seen in ten years.  I actually had a sit down and told Ted about my loss, where I started and where I am now.  I started crying and it caused him to get all weepy with me.  I am extremely proud of my accomplishment. I have not been moving as much as I would like to do.  I was doing great, walking and moving before fall hit - and then I pretty much stopped.  So - yesterday at my meeting, we had to set a goal for January, February and March.  My goal was to get down at least eight more pounds.  And to either go to the fitness center or walk at least twice a week.  I know that doesn't sound like much, but I get a lot of steps on the days that I work.  So - I figured if I set a goal of two days a week, it was something ...

The Art of the Fart - Oh My!!!

OK - I know that is a pretty disturbing title.  But, oh my GOSH!!!!  I am bloated!!!!  Honestly, with as much hot air that has been leaving me, I don't know why I don't have a string attached to my feet and I'm floating along instead of walking.  Honestly, what the heck?!??!??! I don't know what is causing it - but I'm truly a fart machine.  Now, honestly, I know it's the diet.  I know it's what I'm eating.  But, I'm not really sure what the culprit is. My food intake is a lot of veggies and fruits.  Fruits have become my passion.  And I'm eating a lot of them.   And to make it worse, my favorite has been cherries.  I have been eating them like they are candy.  And since it's the last part of the cherry crop, I've been buying them a lot.  Like a bag a day or every other day.  I was doing this knowing I really wouldn't get any more until next summer. Now - I've never been a crazy cherry eater.  I liked the...

Inappropriate Memory Lane and Monkeys

When I got home tonight, something brought back a memory.  So obviously, I must relay it to everyone - because that is what I do. When Ted and I decided that we were going to get married, he and I decided that we needed to sell the houses we were in and get a home together.  We felt that if we were living in my house it would be my house and if I was living in his house it would be his house - but, if we got a home together, it would be our house. We put Ted's house on the market first - and we had to get it sale ready, so we started purging and boxing him up so that we could get the house on the market.  One of those days, my daughter KayeLynn came to help do some boxing and cleaning.  She was down on the floor, on her hands and knees, boxing something up.  Ted walked through the room and into another room.  As he did so, KayeLynn started up with this horrified look on her face.  She says, "Mom, he just grabbed my butt".  I wasn't sure what t...

Peanut Butter 1 - CoCo 0

Don't keep going if you might get grossed out by my ugly toe. What it looked like when it happened.  Bloody ugly toe. Back in December, I was reaching in my pantry and reached behind a jar of peanut butter.  It was about four and a half feet up.  I knocked it over and it toppled down and landed on the big toe on my right foot.  I said some pretty colorful words and the longer I stood there, the more it started to just hurt - and it hurt bad. I started to just sob.  Ted and KayeLynn just kept trying to figure out how to deal with me. Once the tears stopped, I just started to shake and shake.  Ted told me I was in a form of shock, because the pain had been so intense.  I thought the toe was broken, but it wasn't.  It bled a little bit - over the next couple of days.  The day I did this was the day I had just had a pedicure - so I just left the polish on and left the toe alone. One month later Ugly blister! When I went four weeks l...
